Our trusted energy experts partnered with STC Sunbelt SpA and ENEL Green Power to introduce an efficient, distributed renewable energy solution to provide residents in the remote Chilean town of Toconce with 24/7 access to clean energy. Extending transmission lines to the homes of families in this mountainous community has always been cost-prohibitive because of the vast expanse and isolated terrain of the region. Instead, the utility, ENEL Green Power, had the vision to bring access to power for the village residents by installing an integrated cabinet with PHI 3.4 batteries, Studer inverters and charge controllers to capture and harness the power of the sun generated by solar panels in 90 homes located in the town. SimpliPhi’s ruggedized batteries are able to withstand the wide temperature range this region experiences without the risk of thermal runaway, failure or fire. With our modular, safe and cost-effective solution, Toconce residents can now not only save precious funds previously spent on diesel, but they can also now form around-the-clock tourism-related businesses to improve their quality of life while also avoiding additional carbon emissions.
One compact 48V PHI 3.4kWh LFP battery, an inverter, and a charge controller were installed in a small cabinet without the need for thermal monitoring and cooling in each home. Our energy solution is non-toxic, safe and does not require maintenance due to the LFP chemistry, proprietary battery architecture and BMS embedded in each PHI battery.
